Dooley is faced with many problems in his life. His mother dies, his old friend dies, and his uncle gets arrested for the murder of his mother. The conflict in his life is everything that he has to deal with. Dooley can't trust his uncle even if he is an ex cop. His mother never told him that he has an uncle even though his uncle was the one that visited him when he was in jail, not his mother. Dooley also has to deal with Beth's mother, her mother doesn't like the idea that they are dating. But her mother likes this other boy and wants Beth to be dating him instead of Dooley. So, you see that Dooley has many things that he has to deal with.

Anyones life can get worse. Death is a terrible thing and no one wants it to happen expecially with his uncle being blamed for the murder. If my uncle was blammed for the murder and charged then they must have some type of evidence. But if my uncle(myblood)tells me he didn't kill my mother I would believe him. Nothing is closer than family.
